Diabetes is an ever-evolving health concern for millions of people across the globe. As diabetes progresses, the potential for foot wounds increases due to complications of uncontrolled blood sugar that negatively affecting blood vessels and nerves.  This results in peripheral vascular disease (PAD) and peripheral neuropathy (PN) of the lower extremities. It is essential to have annual foot examinations and non-invasive neurological tests to identify high-risk foot conditions, loss of protective sensation (LOPS) and risk for diabetic foot ulcers.
