Advanced foot and nail care clinicians are advocates for prevention and care of patients’ feet and nails by utilizing appropriate, patient-specific instruments.  To prevent transmission of bacteria and fungus to patient and self, it is essential to understand the process for cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of instruments after each use.  Maintain up-to-date policy and procedures to serve as guidelines for maintaining standards of care for foot and nail care patients.
