Skin: Pressure Injury Staging
Webinar Topic: Wound Care
CE Credit(s): 1.0
Length: 50 minutes Webinar
Webinar Description:
Many risk factors contribute to the development of pressure injuries including immobility, shear, and medical devices. To ensure appropriate identification and plan of care protocol, it is essential to use a staging system to classify and describe each pressure injury. The most commonly used staging method is the NPIAP (National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel). This system allows for recognizing and assessing anatomical features of skin, tissue, and other structures such as muscles, bones, tendons, and ligaments. Learn the importance of identifying stable vs unstable pressure injury and differences in wound care protocol.
